Giant Robot Armageddon
Working with the Wacom tablet is totally fucking with the look of my brush lines. I've been casting about for good examples of process. This thread got my attention. I'm trying to decide if this is really a direction I want to go in. It kind of runs counter to my whole, self-imposed SHORTEN THE PRODUCTION CYCLE mandate.

I can say that my Cintiq 21UX has totally transmorgafied my work process -- for the better - and this despite the fact that I rarely can achieve the same thick/thin tapered line on it that I used to with the tablet. I don't even miss it. For sensitive linework nothing will beat trad. materials -- there are just so many types of ink/paper, it's not worth trying to program your shit to mimic something you can do faster the old-fashioned way. 90% of the beautiful lines get swallowed up by coloring anyway in my work. The Cintiq makes it easy to reassert the important lines, the ones you really need to have body, at the very end. I say -- goto the Cintiq and the time savings and efficiency will LEAVE TIME to do the sketch or the linework traditionally beforehand and cleanup at the end.
